DFW Electronics Recycling Events: Fall 2026

Fall brings several useful electronics recycling events to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. They are worth publicizing: a resident with a few old devices should know when a city offers a safe alternative to the trash.

Businesses need to read the eligibility rules closely, however. Most municipal collection events are funded for residents, require local proof of address, limit quantities, or explicitly reject commercial waste. Loading company equipment into a vehicle before checking those rules can produce a wasted trip.

This calendar was verified on August 3, 2026. Event details can change because of weather, capacity, or city policy, so follow the official link before leaving.

September 12: Azle X-Treme Green

The City of Azle’s X-Treme Green event is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the City Garage, 470 Denver Trail.

The city lists e-waste, household hazardous waste, document shredding, tires, and household metal goods. It also states that the free event is for Azle residents, requires an Azle water bill and driver’s license, and may reject or charge people who appear to be delivering business material. Unusual volumes can also be refused.

That makes it a practical option for an Azle household with a normal resident-sized load—not a dependable disposal plan for an office refresh.

October 31: Grapevine Recycles Day

Grapevine Recycles Day is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Municipal Service Center, 501 Shady Brook Drive.

The official list includes electronics, batteries, metal, appliances, cell phones, toner cartridges, and several donation categories. The city requests a canned or dry food item and warns that attendees may face long waits.

The boundary is unambiguous: the event is provided for Grapevine residents, and the city’s unacceptable-items list includes commercial or business waste. Businesses in Grapevine should use a commercial electronics outlet instead of treating the resident event as a company cleanout.

November 7: Frisco Chunk Your Junk

The next fall Chunk Your Junk date is Saturday, November 7, at the Frisco Environmental Collection Center, 6616 Walnut Street.

Electronics are among the accepted categories, but the event is limited to Frisco residents with a City of Frisco utility account. Matching identification and a city water bill are required. The city also says it cannot accept commercial accounts or commercial quantities.

This is a drive-up, do-it-yourself event. Residents unload most items themselves, and limits apply to some categories. Confirm the current operating window and item rules on the city page before attending.

Other DFW resident recycling options

Not every opportunity is a one-day event.

Rules differ by city, item, quantity, and account status. “The city accepts electronics” does not necessarily mean “the city accepts a pallet of company computers.”

The easier route for a qualifying business load

If your DFW company has servers, desktops, laptops, storage, or enterprise networking equipment, you may not need to transport anything to an event.

GreenIT Pickup comes to the business and provides free onsite pickup for qualifying IT equipment loads. We evaluate the load from photos, equipment types, approximate quantities, ZIP code, and access details. Related monitors, cabling, UPS equipment, and approved printers or copiers may be included when they ride along with a qualifying load.

Free pickup is not promised for every pile. Printers and copiers never qualify by themselves, and low-value, very small, difficult-access, or labor-heavy projects may require a quote or may not fit the service.

For data-bearing equipment, our standard media process is aligned with NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2 guidance when the media supports the selected technique. Witnessed on-site drive crushing and verifiable destruction documentation can also be scoped.

Have a business load ready now? Send a few photos and request pickup. We will tell you what qualifies before anyone moves the equipment.

GreenIT Pickup is not affiliated with the municipal events listed above. This guide is informational; the cities control eligibility, dates, hours, accepted items, and cancellation decisions.
