Evidence You Can Check Later

Verifiable Data Destruction Documentation

Go beyond a generic certificate. GreenIT Pickup can document each covered drive with serial-number tracking, before-and-after photos, time and location evidence, and a downloadable PDF that remains QR-verifiable for seven years.

What You Can Expect

Built Around Business IT Projects

Serialized Evidence

Each covered drive can be tied to its recorded serial number and documented before and after physical destruction.

Tamper-Evident Report

The downloadable PDF uses a digital signature and cryptographic hash so later modification can be detected.

Seven-Year Verification

A QR lookup remains available through Expunge Data for seven years, alongside the client-downloadable record.

The Process

From Photos to Finished Pickup

1

Define the Record

We confirm which media must be tracked, photographed, witnessed, and physically destroyed.

2

Capture Evidence

Serial number, before photo, destruction event, after photo, time, and location evidence are recorded.

3

Generate the PDF

The job record is assembled into a digitally signed, cryptographically hashed PDF.

4

Deliver and Verify

The client downloads the report and can use its QR code to verify the retained record online.

What the Destruction Record Can Include

The agreed evidence package is built around the customer’s project and media policy. These fields create a record that can be checked, retained, and connected to a specific drive instead of relying on a blanket promise.

  • Drive serial number recorded
  • Photo before destruction
  • Photo after destruction
  • Digital signature on the report
  • Cryptographic hash verification
  • Time and GPS location evidence
  • Client-downloadable PDF
  • QR lookup retained for seven years

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the PDF immutable?
The precise description is tamper-evident and independently verifiable. A PDF file can be copied or altered, but the digital signature and cryptographic hash make a changed copy detectable when it is checked against the retained QR-linked record.
What is recorded for each drive?
Depending on the agreed scope, the record can include the drive serial number, a photo before destruction, a photo after destruction, the destruction timestamp, GPS location evidence, and the method performed.
How long can the report be verified?
The report is available for QR lookup through Expunge Data for seven years. The client also receives a downloadable PDF for its own records.
Is this a NIST certificate or government approval?
No. NIST publishes guidance; it does not approve GreenIT Pickup or sign off on individual jobs. The report documents the work performed and can support a customer’s recordkeeping or compliance program, but it is not government certification or a compliance guarantee.
Is Expunge Data a certification body?
No. Expunge Data is the documentation and verification platform used to retain and verify the record. It documents what was performed; it is not a certification body.
Can documentation be included with a free equipment pickup?
Sometimes. Project economics depend on the qualifying equipment’s type and value, drive count, site logistics, and documentation requirements. We evaluate whether recovered equipment can offset part or all of the added service cost.

Tell Us What You Need Removed

Send equipment types, approximate quantities, photos, ZIP code, access details, and any data-handling requirements. We will confirm what qualifies and how the project should be scoped.
