Grapevine & Frisco Recycling Events: 2026 Guide

Two North Texas resident recycling events are close together on the fall calendar: Grapevine Recycles Day on October 31 and Frisco Chunk Your Junk on November 7.

Both can help residents keep electronics out of the trash. Neither should be treated as an unrestricted company-disposal event.

Details below were verified from the official city pages on August 3, 2026. Check those pages again before traveling because hours, capacity, weather plans, and item rules can change.

Grapevine Recycles Day: October 31

The City of Grapevine event page schedules Grapevine Recycles Day for Saturday, October 31, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Municipal Service Center, 501 Shady Brook Drive.

The accepted list includes electronics, batteries, appliances, metal, cell phones, ink and toner cartridges, Styrofoam, paper shredding, and several donation categories. The city requests a canned or dry food item and advises attendees to expect possible wait times.

Important boundaries:

  • the event is for Grapevine residents;
  • commercial or business waste is listed as unacceptable;
  • the event is weather-dependent;
  • item and survey instructions should be checked on the official page.

Frisco Chunk Your Junk: November 7

The City of Frisco event page lists Saturday, November 7, as the next 2026 Chunk Your Junk date at the Environmental Collection Center, 6616 Walnut Street.

The event accepts electronics as part of a broader resident disposal, recycling, and donation route. It is drive-up and largely do-it-yourself, with residents responsible for unloading most items.

Important boundaries:

  • a City of Frisco utility billing account is required;
  • the driver’s license and water bill must show matching addresses;
  • commercial accounts and commercial quantities are not accepted;
  • limits and charges apply to some categories;
  • staff recommend arriving before the line cutoff.

Resident event or business pickup?

Use the resident event when the equipment is personally owned, the resident meets the city’s rules, the quantity fits, and the accepted-items list covers the device.

Use a commercial pickup route when:

  • the company or organization owns the equipment;
  • the load came from an office or technology refresh;
  • the quantity exceeds resident norms;
  • the equipment is palletized, racked, or difficult to unload;
  • the project needs a business manifest or data documentation;
  • storage media requires sanitization or witnessed destruction.

GreenIT comes to qualifying DFW businesses

GreenIT Pickup provides free onsite collection for qualifying business IT loads in Grapevine, Frisco, and the wider DFW metroplex. Your staff does not have to load company servers and computers into personal vehicles or test the boundaries of a resident-only event.

Servers, laptops, desktops, storage, and enterprise networking equipment commonly strengthen qualification. Monitors, cabling, UPS equipment, and approved printer or copier ride-alongs can be evaluated with the complete load. Printers and copiers never qualify by themselves.

For data-bearing devices, our standard process is aligned with NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2 guidance when the media supports the selected method. On-site drive crushing and verifiable destruction records can also be scoped.

Send photos for a pickup decision before moving the equipment. We will tell you what qualifies and identify any paid or unsupported portion of the project.

GreenIT Pickup is not affiliated with Grapevine Recycles Day or Chunk Your Junk. The cities control their programs and requirements.
